MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) – The meeting of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko with reporters of Belarusian and foreign mass media is taking place as an open dialogue, BelTA has learned.
The Belarus President stressed that there are no topics he would refuse to discuss at the meeting and he was ready to answer any questions. “Since there are quite many problems and issues, let's talk about it in an open and constructive manner,” he suggested.
The head of state explained why the format of the meeting with reporters on 29 January had been changed. “I suggested an open dialogue instead of a press conference. I would like everyone present here to ask questions in order to speak their minds about this or that topic,” noted the head of state.
“I would like to say absolutely sincerely that it is a very important meeting for me because you are the most knowledgeable category of the population and you take interest in everything: from gossip to global issues and it is just right. You have certain opinions and impressions,” noted the President. “I would like to learn how the society lives in order to avoid big errors when making some executive decisions. Therefore, I encourage you to participate in the open dialogue, in the conversation and I expect you to be understanding and sincere. I promise the same to you during our meeting”.
