SOCHI, 14 September (BelTA) – Negotiations of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko and President of Russia Vladimir Putin in Sochi have ended, BelTA has learned.
The meeting lasted for over four hours. Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin discussed a broad range of matters concerning bilateral relations, the situation in the region, and the joint response to emerging challenges.
At the start of the talks the leaders of the two countries confirmed the strategic allied nature of Belarus-Russia relations, the dedication to invigorating trade and economic cooperation, adherence to previous agreements, including cooperation in the sphere of defense. Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin also discussed the situation in Belarus after the presidential election and the resulting state of affairs inside the country and outside it.
