MINSK, 22 May (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has appointed Natalya Petkevich Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus. She will be in charge of social matters, BelTA learned.
Until now Natalya Petkevich held the post of the first deputy head of the Belarus President Administration.
"Regarding the President Administration... I've already said that Natalya Petkevich did not stay in that job for long. Relatively. After all, she is not a new person [Natalya Petkevich has held various senior positions in the President Administration in previous years]. She knows the job well. I considered her candidature for the post of Deputy Prime Minister earlier," Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “The social matters are probably the most difficult. With your approaches, discipline and demanding nature, I am sure we will finally be able to produce normal films as we need ones for all ideological reasons. It is not only cinema, culture but also sport, healthcare and education that are important.”
In this regard, Aleksandr Lukashenko mentioned cooperation with African countries where Belarus' experience in healthcare, education and other areas is in demand.
