KLIMOVICHI, 16 November (BelTA) - Mogilev Oblast relies on the development of fish farming, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he honored farmers during the regional Dazhynki 2024 harvest festival in the town of Klimovichi on 16 November, BelTA has learned.
This year, Mogilev Oblast harvested 1.1 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops. Mogilev District hit the mark of 100,000 tonnes. Almost 90,000 tonnes were threshed in Shklov District. Yields of 50-60 centners per hectare were reported by the agricultural organizations Gazovik-Sipakovo, Orlovsky Rassvet farm, Agrokombinat Zarya, Dobrovolets and others.
Kirov District posted good rapeseed yield of almost 34 centners per hectare. Some farms had it at 50 centners per hectare. "The crop is promising and profitable," Aleksandr Lukashenko said. There are also leaders in fodder harvesting. These are MushinoAgro, Vendorozh and Sovkhoz Kiselevichi. For the winter period, they stocked from 52 to 74 fodder units per head.
"We have someone to look up to. These are leaders. The region must reach 1.5 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops and increase milk and meat output," the head of state outlined the tasks for Mogilev Oblast in the near future.
"We attach special emphasis to the development of fish farming in your region. You have taken on the ambitious task of providing the country with valuable fish species and fish products. Thus we will be able to meet our needs, make an organic and high-quality product for the domestic and foreign markets. We will successfully solve another task of import substitution," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
