SMOLEVICHI DISTRICT, 21 February (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko set the task to shake things up in the country during a visiting seminar on agriculture on 21 February, BelTA has learned.
"Your task is to shake things up in the country to avoid slackness, God forbid. I tell you as a military man that your task is to shake things up through the vertical of power. We need to sharpen our focus on the cattle wintering period and the preparation for spring field work. We are proud that we have sold over $8 billion of agricultural products. This is a great achievement, but we can lose momentum. As often happens, we achieve some results, relax and then things start going downhill. Therefore, we need to make sure that we sell at least $9 billion or even $10 billion of foodstuffs this year. The price of food products will continue to rise," the head of state said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that he remains completely dissatisfied with the work of the president's authorized representatives and aides in the regions. In this regard, he required the President Administration to ensure a clear organization of their work.
“The aides should report to you [addressing the head of the President Administration Dmitry Krutoi], and you should inform me about it. I think that we may need to change this system. But the aides should work more efficiently. This can also apply to authorized representatives in some cases. They often underperform and just show off. But I am aware of this,” the Belarusian leader said.
