MINSK, 1 July (BelTA) – Conflicts in the world are started in the offices of Western officials, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during a solemn gathering on 1 July dedicated to upcoming Independence Day, BelTA has learned.
“Eighty years after our Victory, the Yalta Conference arrangements were replaced by the Brussels-Washington reckless project. Hotbeds of tension are being created right in the offices of Western officials. They are playing with people's lives, as if people are characters in a computer game or a Hollywood movie,” noted Aleksandr Lukashenko. “You would ask: why? If they have failed, if they have done something outrageous... And look at what is happening in France, Great Britain, Germany. I am not trying to make it look worse than it actually is. Governments there change every year or two. This is very telling. It means that they have done something wrong at home and want to cover up their crimes by attacking civilians, as it happened in defenseless Gaza or when they struck Iran,” the head of state said.
The president emphasized that Germany is declaring the creation of Europe’s strongest army almost in the same fashion as it did at the beginning of the last century, with the tacit encouragement of its Western partners.

“Doesn’t it remind you of anything? The things that happened a hundred years ago. Has the world ever imposed restrictions on Germany? What did it lead to? To the Second World War. And what about today? Today, there are no obstacles on its way. Once again, it is trying to become a regional military leader, deploying brigade-level ground forces near our borders,” he said.
