MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) – Left without the support of the United States of America, Poland and Lithuania will forever remain the dreary outskirts of Europe, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he delivered his Address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly in Minsk on 28 January, BelTA has learned.
The head of state noted that the offensive military infrastructure is being reinforced in the West, and NATO is building up its troops near the borders of the Union State, flights of U.S. strategic bombers have intensified, to up to 30 sorties per day.
"The neighboring countries are talking about the deployment of nuclear weapons carriers. Our western neighbors, Poland and Lithuania, are actively bidding Washington's policy. For them, it's a survival strategy. The alternative is to forever remain the dreary outskirts of Europe. So they have made their choice," the President said.
