Lukashenko wishes Merry Christmas to Belarusians

MINSK DISTRICT, 8 January (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Merry Christmas to Eastern Orthodox Belarusians, BelTA learned from the press service of the head of state.

“This bright holiday gives believers hope for spiritual salvation, teaches boundless love and sacrifice for the sake of their neighbor. Christian compassion and care, humbleness and benevolence have long become part of the cultural identity of the Belarusian people. We open our hearts to those who come with peace, and we ourselves are ready to share food and shelter with those in need,” the congratulations said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko believes that together Belarusians will be able to build a great future for their native country by preserving the Orthodox traditions of compassion and moral purity.

“May Christmas Eve fill your homes with warmth, sincerity and mutual understanding, and may the joy of these holidays inspire new creative achievements in the coming year,” the president wished.
