MINSK, 30 September (BelTA) - The Western sanctions have failed to achieve their goals, including thanks to a wide international support of Belarus, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he accepted credentials of ambassadors of foreign countries in Minsk on 30 September, BelTA has learned.
“Even amid the unprecedented pressure of sanctions Belarus continues its successful development. This is especially true for our traditional industries and agriculture. We have redirected exports, are replacing imports, have increased deliveries to Russia, China and other countries,” the president said.
He has acknowledged that Belarus is feeling the negative impact of Western restrictions due to the openness of its economy. “Nevertheless, these sanctions have not achieved their goals, including thanks to a wide international support of Belarus,” the Belarusian leader stressed.
