Lukashenko: We have found what our ancestors have been looking for a thousand years
ALEXANDRIA. 6 July (BelTA) – Belarusian peacefulness and respect for the traditions of different cultures is the very "fern flower" with the code of life embedded in it, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the national festival Kupala Night (Alexandria Gathers Friends), BelTA has learned.
"Each of us has his own place of power, where we come or return to take a deep breath and spread our wings for a new flight," Aleksandr Lukashenko said. "I sincerely thank everyone who shared their skill and talents with us today. I thank everyone who has been creating a truly authentic atmosphere here all these years. Now it is especially valuable."
"Look. The world is changing at breakneck speed. It seems that we have learned everything and conquered everything. We create an alternative reality on the internet, sometimes we live on this internet, we are out of touch with real life. But, thank God, there are people like you - with pure thoughts and a kind heart. People who believe in miracles come to Alexandria from year to year to celebrate the night of Ivan Kupala. The holiday steeped in ancient legends and myths. May all you wishes that you wished today come true. On this blessed land, we have the Trofimov spring of pure water. We, the people of Alexandria, believe in its miraculous powers," the president said.
He said that during the Great Patriotic War, mothers and wives sprinkled water from this source on men going to the front.
"There is no better protection than love for your native land and faith in its strength. We pass on this tradition to our children, generously share it with friends. We have found what our ancestors have been looking for a thousand years. We learned the true meaning of life. Our peacefulness, desire for friendship, respect for the traditions of different cultures are the very fern flower with the code of life embedded in it," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
“I sincerely welcome you to the Kupala fairy tale. Wishing all the best to you,” the Belarusian leader said.
