MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) – Teachers play an important role in the society, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he addressed the National Pedagogical Conference on 24 August, BelTA has learned.
“We know how to do everything: to save people's lives, to perform heroic deeds, we are able to solve major economic problems. It is all due to you – school and university teachers. Yet, the negative things, our faults and failures are also due to you. Therefore, let's work towards making as few mistakes as possible,” the head of state urged.
As Aleksandr Lukashenko noted, he often says that the world has gone off the rails. And the fact that there is an opportunity to get together and hold nationwide events such as the pedagogical conference, suggests that people in Belarus live a calm and normal life. “Other countries cannot afford it, because some of them are already at war, and some are preparing for a war. God saved us. And we also did our part - we defended our country. So let's appreciate what we have. And let's prevent things from getting worse, let's preserve what is valued in our country and what our people view as most valuable assets,” the Belarusian leader added.
