KAZAN, 24 October (BelTA) – Belarus is ready for the election and ready to respond to any provocations. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper on the sidelines of a BRICS summit in the Russian city of Kazan, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “We don’t rule out the possibility of some insinuations, provocations, and so on. But events [of 2020] will not be repeated. We won’t allow it because we know who does it. Not so long ago thanks to Mike Pompeo (former CIA director and head of the U.S. Department of State) that I’ve met with. He was in Belarus. Then during a meeting with [Russian prankers] Vovan and Lexus he stated: ‘Yes, our color revolution in Belarus has failed’”.
“Well, what more proof of interference in our election and of the desire to turn the country upside down do you need? As the president I had to defend it and so I did. And we defended it. This is why we are ready for the election and ready to respond to any provocations,” the head of state stressed.
