Lukashenko: We all must think how to keep the country together

MINSK, 27 August (BelTA) – We all must think how to keep the country together, and everything starts with teachers, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the Nationwide Conference on Teaching on 27 August, BelTA has learned.

“I live together with you in this life, this society, and I see what is going on. As a more informed person, I know more about each matter. Education is the most important sector for me. I am quite familiar with the topic. Some 50% of my work, maybe more, is about teaching. I have to see, analyze and teach the whole country, show everyone how something needs to be done. Sometimes you set a task, then monitor it and see that it has not been fulfilled. Then you go and do it yourself,” the head of state said.

“Therefore, we are in the same boat. There is no need to keep something dark, to tell lies or to sugar up reality. The situation is very complicated. There has never been such complexity around Belarus as there is now. We need to keep the country together. We all want to be sovereign and independent. We all must think how to keep it, and be ready for it. Everything starts with us, teachers,” the Belarusian leader said.
