Lukashenko warns Minsk Oblast of tough responsibility for harvesting results in 2025

MINSK, 19 October (BelTA) – Agricultural practices need to be improved, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during his visit to Volozhin on 19 October, BelTA has learned.

Having arrived in the town for the regional stage of the harvest festival Dazhynki 2024, the head of state first of all shared his impressions of agricultural practices in the region – the president could assess the state of agriculture from his helicopter. According to the president, there is nothing to criticize Minsk Oblast for by and large, yet the head of state voiced a number of remarks.

“You know how to do everything, but you don't do it. You know how to cultivate farmland. There was nothing to complain about along the way. You know how to plow. You know how to do irrigation works properly. Firewood is where it should be. This shows that our people can do it. They can do everything as it should be. Not worse than in the West, where everything is in private ownership. But we don't always do it, not everywhere. Therefore, next year you will be under pressure to get good harvest,” Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized.

The agricultural practices should be improved, the head of state set the task.

“All that's left is to harvest maize. Small areas were left unharvested. In other words, you know how to do everything. Others should follow suit. Some lack discipline. We have enough of everything, we have expertise and knowledge, tractors, equipment. Discipline is missing in some places. Over the winter, everything needs to be put to rights. We need to work the way we should,” the president demanded.
