MINSK, 11 February (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko warned against volte-face and betrayal in his speech at the 6th Belarusian People's Congress on 11 February, BelTA informs.
“I want to address all politicians and initiators. The period was difficult, not all people were able to withstand and realize what was going on. Take my tip: don't be too quick to change normal summer shoes to winter boots when it is raining. And vice versa. Take your time and think twice. You should be patient, Belarusian patience as a feature of Belarusian mentality. Otherwise, you will face grim consequences,” the head of state warned.
“No country, especially our Slavonic country, will tolerate betrayal. Believe me: even if they come to power someday, they will stand aside from traitors. There is an axiom in life: if you betray once, you will betray twice and thrice,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
