POLOTSK, 8 November (BelTA) – It is necessary to work out a standard package of benefits for the young specialists, who will work in the countryside. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement as he delivered a speech during the Vitebsk Oblast harvest festival Dazhynki 2024 in Polotsk on 8 November, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “The countryside should keep up with the times. We need to bring young people back to the villages and get them involved in accomplishing innovative tasks. We need to enable conditions for it and we need to give them opportunities to show their worth. In other words, it is necessary to create modern agrotowns, towns, and build good housing. Good machines, equipment, and vehicles. In other words, good working conditions. And normal wages. No young people will come here without that.”
He remarked that there are a lot of young farmers in the country, who grow all kinds of products starting with hazelnuts and ending with apples and watermelons. “We need to trust young people,” the head of state pointed out.
“If we talk about conditions, we cannot ignore material incentives either. It is necessary to work out a standard social package for young specialists, who go to the countryside to work. Rented housing, financial support, transport provisions, and so on,” the president stated.
Aleksandr Lukashenko reminded that he had okayed all the proposals in favor of developing employer-sponsored education. “If a person signs an employer-sponsored education contract or their parents sign one, then the person has to come back and work in this land. There must be no other options. Higher education costs a great deal of money and people need to pay for it,” the Belarusian leader stated.
According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, it is necessary to introduce high technologies in business processes due to another objective factor: the crisis of the early 1990s, the collapse of the economy, and havoc of those years have resulted in demographic misbalance. “It is necessary to compensate for the lack of workforce with a more efficient technological paradigm and iron discipline,” the head of state stressed.
