MINSK, 1 October (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko demanded dramatic changes in ideological work as he met with senior officials of the Belarus President Administration, BelTA has learned.
“As for ideological work, I have opined on it more than once. And I talked about ideologists. They are in a class of their own, they are a rarity. And they should be in sight. After last year's events, we noticed them, they are all in plain sight. We need to involve them, they are ready to work. In this regard, I expect dramatic changes,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.
“You know the problems and bottlenecks in ideological work. The work with public associations has completely failed, first of all, with such public associations as the BRSM Youth Union and Belaya Rus,” the head of state said.
Special attention of the senior officials of the Belarus President Administration was drawn to communication with the public. “You should pay serious attention to resolving the problems they voice, and to fulfilling the president's instructions,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
Presidential aides can be of great help in this. The head of state recalled that the powers of these officials were expanded, and therefore they can and should have a serious impact on all domestic issues related to public administration and national security.
