Lukashenko visits Logoisk District to mark 25th anniversary of Belarusian harvester production

MINSK, 25 August (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko is making a working trip to Logoisk District, Minsk Oblast, BelTA has learned.

The head of state will be reported on the state and prospects for the domestic harvester production, the development strategy of the Belarusian agricultural machinery company Gomselmash. Aleksandr Lukashenko is set to get familiar with an exhibition of samples of combine harvesters, other farm machines and import-replacing products (components for combine harvesters produced by Belarusian enterprises).

The exhibition will also feature the sowing units vehicles made by Lidagroprommash, which is part of the Gomselmash holding company, and by the Amkodor holding company.

The reason for the event with the participation of the head of state was his conversation with Sergei Fedorovich, Chief Designer of the harvester engineering division at Gomselmash, in Rogachev District on 13 August. He recalled that 24 August of this year marks the 25th anniversary of the fundamental decision to develop the domestic harvester production.

Aleksandr Lukashenko recalled: “25 years ago he and I decided in a field whether the Belarusian harvester were to be. We had no harvesters back then.” The president suggested meeting somewhere in the field and saving the date.

The head of state recalled that some time ago many people were against the decision to develop the manufacture of Belarusian harvesters and suggested purchasing the necessary equipment abroad. Now there is a whole lineup of such equipment meeting the global standards in Belarus.

Earlier in August the president was made familiar with the operation a new self-propelled grain harvester GH810 (KZS-3321). This time the president will be shown a self-propelled vehicle equipped with an intellectual vision technology. Video cameras and modern automatic control systems make it possible to focus on the quality of harvesting rather than on the process of driving.

Sergei Fedorovich told reporters that over a rather short period of time – 25 years of grain harvesting machine building in Belarus – there has been much progress. As of today, Belarusian manufacturers offer 11 models of vehicles in 75 modifications. The production of seven new models will be launched in the near future. “We have gone a very long way,” he stressed. “Of course, the decision to develop the manufacture of grain harvesters in Belarus was a historic one.”

Plans have been made to design new sophisticated models of grain harvesters in the future. “We are export oriented. We will produce new models for export. Besides, we are working on new models with the highest productivity,” Sergei Fedorovich said.
