Lukashenko urges to provide remote rural communities with daily essentials

MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) – Residents of remote rural communities should be provided with daily essentials on a regular basis, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the general meeting of the Belarusian national union of consumer societies Belkoopsoyuz in Minsk on 16 February, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko cited a case of Mosty District in Grodno Oblast, where the store was temporarily closed after the salesperson quitted the job.

“A convenience store truck has been launched. However, the mobile store visits the village in the first half of the day. An ordinary rural teacher complains about having only two ways out of the situation: either to leave the children unsupervised in order to go buy groceries, or stay hungry. We need to think about people first,” the president demanded. “Analyze the ways to optimize the routes, taking into account the onsite services provided by other organizations.”
