MINSK, 19 November (BelTA) – Swimming and athletics need to get the closest attention and every invested cent needs to pay off, Belarus President, President of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he spoke at the meeting of the National Olympic Committee on 19 November, BelTA has learned.
“Swimming and athletics are the sports that should get the closest attention. All necessary support will be provided. Every invested cent, however, needs to pay off,” the president warned.
The head of state also commented on team sports as one of the participants of the meeting said that Belarusian teams always put on a fight. “We always put on a fight. Yet, the fight results in a defeat. We have learned to fight back and nothing more,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
