Lukashenko urges local authorities to address people's concerns in most earnest way

MINSK, 10 June (BelTA) – Local authorities should address people's concerns in a fast and efficient way, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the national seminar-conference to discuss new methods and forms of public communication at the grassroots level, BelTA has learned.

“If we lose the battle for the people, we are worthless as the government; our state is worthless. We will turn into Ukraine where every man for himself, the strongest survive, where the youth, children, old people are left behind. They ended up having a war. None of us wants such a scenario. So let's work. This is vitally important,” the Belarusian leader stressed.

He noted that public hours, receptions, hot lines, dialogue platforms, administrative procedures are only the visible part of the process. “We are always in touch with the public, regardless of the presence or absence of direct contacts with residents of our districts, cities, villages, streets. We ourselves are the public. And you know what we can do to create a comfortable living environment, and what kind of actions can cause political risks for the state,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
