MINSK, 3 March (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko updated the tasks for the newly appointed Education Minister Andrei Ivanets, BelTA has learned.
"We have set a course in the education sector. You know what to do. The system is starting to get used to you," the head of state said.
He noted that Andrei Ivanets is quite young for a minister, which sometimes draws attention: "Everyone wants to see the younger generation to bring a fresh perspective. I keep saying constantly that we need this. Well, you are a young, educated man who knows life. You have lived a difficult life. But some again start criticizing. You know this."

"So you are used to it. Go ahead, do not stop. Make sure that students feel good at schools. Put things there in order, turn schools into ‘temples of knowledge’. And work on entrance exams, make sure they are organized properly and students are able to pass them," the Belarusian leader instructed.

"Everything will fall into place. Someone will become an academician, a corresponding member, a doctor of sciences, will be engaged in science, and so on. But if someone do not study well in school, they cannot count on high-paid jobs. So move forward," Aleksandr Lukashenko added.
