Lukashenko: United States might use the Middle East conflict to start a world war

MINSK, 8 August (BelTA) — Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed concern that the United States might use the Middle East conflict to start a new world war as he met with ministers of internal affairs of the CIS states in Minsk on 8 August, BelTA has learned.

"It would seem that the USA’s foreign policy has been well-established under the current president [Joe Biden] over the last four years. They have clearly identified countries as friends, enemies, their sons of bitches and simply sons of bitches. Once a new administration comes in, the situation will be like that in Afghanistan. It will not be the first time. In order to change the government, they have to start a little war. God forbid if they use the Middle East conflict to start a new world war. But they are ready to do it as well," the president said.

"I am in no way turning you against the United States or any of your traditional allies. You should be friendly and cooperate with all, who wants it. But do not waste what we have created in recent years [trustful cooperation]. It largely depends on us, law enforcers. To a large degree. I thought about it on the way to the meeting," Aleksandr Lukashenko added.
