Lukashenko to visit Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation

PUKHOVICHI DISTRICT, 4 November (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko will visit the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation in Pukhovichi District, BelTA has learned.

The head of state will be briefed on the progress to launch high-tech full-cycle agro-industrial production as well as development prospects of the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation.

The president will also tour the production facilities of the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation, visit a plant that makes feed for cattle and poultry, a research center and a biotech manufacturing facility.

The Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation started building agro-industrial manufacturing facilities in March 2019. By the end of 2021, all major facilities were completed. Now the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation produces more than 50 types of feed and premixes for cattle in the pilot production mode. All production facilities for animal feed, premixes and amino acids are certified according to international standards.

According to the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation, when the company starts operating at full capacity the annual output of compound feed will be 738,000 tonnes, premixes 132,000 tonnes, and amino acids 85,600 tonnes.

The so-called prospective development project BNBC-3 will be launched by the summer of 2024. It envisages the launch of production lines for vitamins, amino acids, starch and glucose products. This will be the brand-new production of vitamins (B2, B12, C) and new kinds of amino acids (valine, leucine, isoleucine) in Belarus and the CIS.

In January-September, the revenues from the sale of products, including the company's own products, exceeded $100 million. The Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation employs more than 1,700 people, the average salary is Br2,200.

While visiting the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation on 10 August 2020, Aleksandr Lukashenko spoke highly of the company's potential: “Only a few countries have such production facilities - four countries, and Belarus is one of them. It is bigger than flying to outer space. We have been involved in space exploration since Soviet times, and this is a brand new manufacturing sector operating on domestic raw materials. Today the BNBC is ready to buy 700,000 tonnes of grain at international prices,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
