Lukashenko to focus on seed production during another trip to the region

MINSK, 16 August (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko continues his trips to the regions to assess the situation in agriculture. This time the president will go to Smolevichi District, Minsk Oblast, to take stock of the progress with fieldwork and study the state of things in seed production, BelTA has learned.

The president will visit the selection and seed complex of the Scientific and Practical Center for Arable Farming of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB). Aleksandr Lukashenko will be briefed on the progress with fieldwork in the region and in the entire country, the outcomes of research conducted by the NASB in the field of agriculture, the work of the scientific and practical center to provide agricultural companies with modern domestic varieties of grain and fodder crops.

The head of state is to inspect the fields that are used to breed new varieties of wheat and leguminous crops. He will also visit the production site for the refinement of seed material of the scientific and practical center.
