Lukashenko: There's no way one can change the outcomes of the great war

MINSK, 2 July (BelTA) –  You can turn over all war graves, but you cannot change the outcomes of the great war, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a solemn assembly held in the Palace of the Republic on 2 July in anticipation of Independence Day, BelTA has learned.

“You can turn over all the graves of the soldiers who died fighting against Nazism, you can destroy all the monuments, rewrite all the textbooks, you can endlessly disregard the decisions of the Nuremberg Trials, but the outcomes of the great war cannot be changed. Our victory is their humiliation, and they have to accept this. It’s a shameful page in the history of Western European 'civilizers', which they are trying to erase not only from their memory, but also from the memory of their peoples,” the head of state emphasized.

He noted that new evidence of their crimes, new names of the killers of women, old people and children will be the response to each destroyed memorial.

“We have no illusions that the international court will recognize the genocide of Belarusian civilians or condemn criminals who have lived to old age. This supposedly independent body is too biased and dependent. But neo-Nazis will have to listen endlessly to the terrible details of the crimes of their ancestors. Listen over and over again,” the president said.
