MINSK, 31 October (BelTA) – The unipolar world does not work and could not work, it needs an alternative and a responsibility of a different level. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement during the 2nd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security on 31 October, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko pointed out that all the endeavors launched by representatives of the Western civilization under the banner of democratization and world improvement result in the opposite. The incontestable examples include Iraq, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, African countries, and now Ukraine.
“It is a result of the unipolar world. It doesn’t work and it couldn’t work,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “There is one conclusion: an alternative is needed. An alternative is needed in life always and everywhere. If there is no alternative, if there is monopolization, then it is a disaster. A responsibility of a different level is needed.”
In his words, the emergence of the regional Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the global BRICS organization as platforms for like-minded countries was the response to that demand.
