MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) – We need to work out a program of history field trips for our school students, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he addressed the National Pedagogical Conference in Minsk on 24 August, BelTA has learned.
“Those who visited Khatyn did not carry white-red-white flags in the streets. War memorials are our heritage. We have failed to tell our children about these important facts of our history,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.
According to him, the state will allocate necessary funds. “Enterprises, parents, and schools need to get involved in the project. The school should be an organizer of such field trips. Let parents contribute financially as well. We will recommend state-run and private enterprises to join this work. We need to develop a system and stick to it. As soon as the program is up and running, we will think of logistics and financing. We are already working on the project,” the president said.
