Lukashenko: Sociopolitical situation in Belarus has been largely stabilized but remains complicated

MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) – The sociopolitical situation in Belarus has been largely stabilized but remains complicated. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement during a ceremony held on 20 August to present state awards to representatives of defense, security, and law enforcement agencies, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “The sociopolitical situation in Belarus has been largely stabilized but remains complicated. There is no time to relax. If you noticed it, I very often repeat the phrase: if some people – crazy, mad people and people, who have gone astray – fail to mend their ways after these operations you have staged recently, they are enemies. Because what other evidence does one need to prove what they wanted to do to us, to turn the country upside down, to destroy the state, and make us slaves?”

Aleksandr Lukashenko continued: “We have proven it with your aid and primarily thanks to you. What else is unclear to them? If they keep acting in the same manner contrary to the logic that has evolved in the society recently, they are enemies. If a war happens, they will collaborate with the invaders the way it happened during the last war.”

According to the president, risks and challenges originating from the global information space cause serious concern. “An information war is in progress. Anything goes. And we have to counteract it,” he said.
