Lukashenko signs decree on tenders for right to import alcohol products

MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has signed decree No.306 on organizing tenders for the right to import alcohol products, the press service of the head of state told BelTA.

The document stipulates the procedure for organizing and carrying out tenders meant to determine legal persons, which implement the exclusive right of the state to import alcohol products.

An interagency commission has been vested with the authority to name winners of the tenders. The personal composition of the commission will be approved by the head of state. The commission will include representatives of the Belarus President Property Management Directorate, the State Security Committee (KGB), the Internal Affairs Ministry, the Tax and Duties Ministry, the State Customs Committee, and other interested agencies. The antimonopoly regulation and trade minister will chair the commission.

The decree stipulates the authority of the interagency commission, rules for forming the commission and rules of its work; requirements for the content and the procedure for tender participants to submit their offers; circumstances that prevent participants from participating in tenders; the procedure for evaluating tender offers and choosing the winners. The list of the winners will be approved by the Belarus president.

Winners of the tender will have to inform the Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Ministry about how much alcohol products they import to Belarus, how much they sell, and how much stock they have left.
