MINSK, 31 October (BelTA) - Recently I have had to engage in correspondence with a U.S. high-ranking official through intermediaries, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he spoke at the 2nd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security on 31 October, BelTA has learned.
"They tried to intimidate us. They said 'Should you decide to help Russia, should you decide to go into Ukraine and so on, we will unleash sanctions hell and war on you.' Regarding the war, I told them: 'Try us'. Regarding the sanctions (this is important), I said: ‘We are people of faith’. I won't reveal the response," the president stated.
