MINSK, 11 February (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to Iran President Ebrahim Raisi as the country celebrates the 43rd anniversary of the Victory of Islamic Revolution, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
“Tehran's firm position on ensuring sovereignty, determination to protect the historical choice of the people, dedication to the ideas of social justice help the country successfully overcome difficulties,” the Belarusian head of state said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized that the two countries established strong relations of friendship and trust, which is especially valuable nowadays. The president expressed the opinion that the potential for bilateral trade and economic cooperation is still hugely untapped. The head of state expressed interest in the implementation of joint projects, first of all, in industry and agriculture.
“I recall with warmth our meeting in Dushanbe in September 2021 as part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's Council of Heads of State, during which we discussed important issues on the international agenda,” the Belarusian president said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished the Iranian president strong health and fruitful activity, and also peace and prosperity to the friendly Iranian people.
