Lukashenko sends Spring Festival greetings to China

MINSK, 10 February (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping as the country celebrates the Spring Festival, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“China is playing an increasingly important role in maintaining balance, peace and justice in the world. Under the great banner of Chinese-style socialism, your country is successfully putting into practice centuries-old paradigms and new strategic priorities,” the message of congratulations reads. “The patronage of the Dragon traditionally promises the best time to make wise, far-sighted and courageous decisions. The year 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. This year will be remembered for comprehensive modernization and significant transformations of the new era,” the Belarusian president remarked.

The head of state noted that the past year marked an important milestone in all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership between Belarus and China: “Minsk and Beijing reached an even higher level of political trust and foreign policy coordination, and expanded the scope of multi-vector cooperation.”

The two countries are entering another period of strengthening relations, which will be filled with remarkable events and achievements. “I am sure that in 2024 we will ramp up cooperation in technology and investment, successfully hold the Year of Cooperation in the field of technology and innovation, and enrich humanitarian interaction,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.

One of the fundamental documents defining the future of the bilateral cooperation will be a plan to promote Belarus-China practical cooperation until 2030 as part of the arrangements reached by the leaders of the two countries. “We are ready to offer a number of new avenues of cooperation as Belarus is emerging as an important investment site for China in the region,” the president noted.

“I cherish cordial memories of our meetings and look forward to continuing a trusting and meaningful dialogue to discuss current issues on the global and bilateral agenda,” the head of state added.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Xi Jinping strong health and further successes in his important government activities, as well as peace and prosperity to the friendly people of China.
