Lukashenko sends professional day greetings to KGB

MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated the State Security Committee staff on their professional holiday, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“In the most difficult periods of our history, the security committee defended the sovereignty and independence of the Motherland showing a great example of patriotism, perseverance and courage. Continuing the glorious traditions of your predecessors, you resolutely confront challenges and threats to the country's security, take preventive action to preserve the stability and unity of our society,” reads the message of congratulations.

The head of state expressed confidence that the close-knit, combat-ready staff of the KGB will continue to conscientiously fulfill all assigned tasks.

The president addressed special words of gratitude to the retired security officers. “You embody an inextricable link between generations, you are an example of officer honor and loyalty to duty,” Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized.
