MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko sent birthday greetings to Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matviyenko, BelTA learned from the press service of the head of state.
"In the Republic of Belarus, you are well known and appreciated as an outstanding, consequential politician who selflessly defends the interests of the Union State, a sincere and devoted friend of our country," the congratulatory message reads. “Your high professional and human qualities, managerial talent and integrity contribute to the comprehensive development of the Belarusian-Russian ties, inter-parliamentary cooperation."
The head of state noted that he would be happy to see Valentina Matviyenko in person during her upcoming working visit to Vitebsk Oblast for the 11th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in June of this year.
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Valentina Matviyenko good health, happiness, prosperity and creative achievements in the important state and international work.
