MINSK, 26 December (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated the team and veterans of Gorodeya Sugar Refinery on the 65th anniversary, BelTA learned from the press service of the head of state.
“The ‘sweet’ history of the factory began on the eve of the new year, 1961, when the first batch of Gorodeya sugar was made. These two words have become one of the most recognizable domestic food brands, loved in Belarus and far beyond its borders,” the congratulatory message reads.
Aleksandr Lukashenko pointed out that being the town’s economic mainstay, Gorodeya Sugar Refinery has been steadily gaining strength year after year, branching out into new lines of business: juices, jams, confitures, vegetable products and fruit and berry semi-finished products. The factory also operates its own retail network SakharOK and a subsidiary - a large agricultural producer PIK-Lesnoye.
“I am convinced that in the future you will continue to meet ambitious tasks and make a significant contribution to the country’s food security,” the president emphasized.
The head of state wished the team and veterans of the factory good health, peace, well-being and new achievements for the benefit of the beloved Belarus.
