MINSK, 6 November (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko reminded Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev about a task concerning the architectural development of the capital after opening and visiting the world-class swimming pool in Minsk on 6 November, BelTA has learned.
Speaking about the area near the swimming pool, the president noted that the work had been prompted by practical considerations. He drew attention to the landscaping of slopes, particularly along the railroad, near interchanges, where it is necessary to plant shrubs. Vladimir Kukharev assured that the relevant work is underway and a lot has already been done.
"You owe me a debt. You promised to divide Minsk into pieces, so to say. Architects should say how to make Minsk better. We have built something here. An entire micro-district has been licked into shape. We need to look at the main sites, especially in the city center. I have always kept these areas untouched. But we need to see what we can add to them without overloading. But it should be checked by the architects."
"We do not work only in the center, but also in the suburbs," Vladimir Kukharev stated.
"That is what I said: to divide into pieces. Not even districts, but smaller pieces. And we will see," the head of state emphasized.
"We will work on micro-districts," Vladimir Kukharev said.
