MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko touched upon the work of the domestic light industry as he made new appointments on 4 March, BelTA has learned.

At a meeting with the industrial team of the government, led by Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich, the president addressed Chairwoman of the Belarusian light industry concern Bellegprom Tatiana Lugina.

“These are Baranovichi Cotton Production Association, Kamvol, Belwest, Minsk Leather Production Association and other enterprises of the leather and footwear industry. I have visited most of them many times. We discussed various matters there and set certain tasks. Orsha Linen Mill needs to expand its operations. Flax is our treasure. We need to work more actively in this area. As for warehouse stocks, there should be no stockpiles. Don’t you dare move stocks to another warehouse and thus fail to earn money. It is a crime,” the head of state said.
