Lukashenko recalls his opposition attitudes before presidency

VITEBSK, 2 September (BelTA) – As he talked to students at Vitebsk State University on 2 September, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko answered a question concerning the work book he kept when he was running a state-owned agricultural enterprise (collective farm). The work book has been recently found and handed over to the president, BelTA has learned.

“I felt it was the best gift I’d been given. That work book. I even recalled it,” the head of state said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko remarked that as he is analyzing those records now, he sees that he was worried about many matters of national importance back in the day: “How much meat I had to sell, how much milk, and where we underperformed.”

Moreover, as he participated in various major events and conferences, the future head of state took notes in his work book concerning the concepts he should have to talk about. Aleksandr Lukashenko admitted that these concepts had inclined heavily towards opposition. With these notes he tried to rigorously defend his stance on various matters. The stance sometimes contradicted the established beliefs. “In this manner or that manner,” he said.
