Lukashenko recalls foundation of Belarusian harvester manufacturing industry

ROGACHEV DISTRICT, 13 August (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko was made familiar with the operation a new self-propelled grain harvester GH810 (KZS-3321) during his working trip to Rogachev District, Gomel Oblast on 13 August, BelTA has learned.

However, the conversation did not start with a discussion about the technical parameters of the new product. Sergei Fedorovich, Chief Designer of the harvester engineering division of the Belarusian agricultural machinery company Gomselmash, reminded that 24 August will mark 25 years since the decision in favor of domestic harvester production was made in Belarus.

Aleksandr Lukashenko recalled: “25 years ago he and I decided in a field whether the Belarusian harvester needs to be. We had no harvesters back then.”

The president remarked that many had argued against making harvesters in Belarus in favor of importing the necessary machines. Now Belarus offers an entire lineup of world-class harvesters.

Aleksandr Lukashenko suggested meeting in some field on 24 August in order to mark the anniversary.

The president saw the new harvester in operation. Among other things the harvester can be equipped with automatic driving, harvest charting, and video surveillance systems. Everything has been done for the sake of high performance and for the sake of the driver’s comfort.
