Lukashenko, Putin hold talks at Vostochny Cosmodrome

AMUR OBLAST, 12 April (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin are holding a bilateral meeting at the Vostochny Cosmodrome, BelTA has learned.

The heads of state arrived at the cosmodrome at about 10.45 Minsk time. At first they inspected the territory of the facility in a helicopter, and then got familiar with the progress made in the construction of the cosmodrome.

The presidents also met with cosmonauts and employees of the Vostochny Cosmodrome. Vladimir Putin said that Belarusian specialists will soon have the opportunity to participate in the development of the Vostochny Cosmodrome. Aleksandr Lukashenko, in turn, stressed that Belarus is ready to send its builders here on a short notice.

Earlier, the press service of the Belarusian president said that the leaders of the two countries would discuss bilateral relations, measures to counter sanctions, the situation in the region and the world, and also the events in Ukraine.
