MINSK, 10 October (BelTA) – Belarus will be able to properly respond to any enemy if need be. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement during a conference to discuss security matters, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “I've instructed the Defense Ministry and the State Security Committee to work out a possible set of measures meant to control the situation and respond to it. But I am warning you one more time: we will give a decent response to any enemy. We've been preparing for it for decades. We will give a response if need be. God forbid, of course.”
The president drew attention to the role of intelligence agencies, designated military personnel and civilians, who must not overlook anything with regard to the developing situation. “We have to know everything going on along our borders,” the Belarusian leader stressed.
