Lukashenko presents Grand Prix to Belarusian Amalia Sukhan



VITEBSK, 10 July (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko presented the main award of the 23rd International Children's Song Contest to Belarusian Amalia Sukhan during a ceremony to open the 34th edition of the International Art Festival Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk on 10 July, BelTA Learned.

Following two competitive days, two participants received the same points - 136. Those were Belarusian Amalia Sukhan and Miraz Nagashibay from Kazakhstan. The intrigue as to who picks up the main prize held to the last.

The Grand Prix of the 23rd International Children's Song Contest Vitebsk by the decision of the jury went to the representative of Belarus. The young singer won over the jury and the audience with her enthusiasm and energy when she sang the soundtrack from The Lion King and with her emotional performance of “Songs of a Far Homeland” from the 17 Moments of Spring TV show which the girl sang on the second competitive day accompanied by an orchestra. The jury members were moved to tears, and the audience gave Amalia a round of standing ovation.


Ahead of the contest the aspiring artist promised to bring home the main award of the contest and she did her best to deliver on this promise.
