MINSK, 13 December (BelTA) - On 13 December, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko presented a challenge banner to the Blokhin construction team Zodchie, the best student team of 2024, during the closing ceremony of the third labor semester of 2024 in the format of the Belarusian nationwide meeting of student teams in Minsk on 13 December, BelTA learned.
Now there are 3,909 teams with more than 55,000 members. The projects that have the status of the All-Belarusian Youth Construction Site are the BelNPP, the Khatyn memorial complex, the National Center for Patriotic Education of Youth at the Kobrin fortification of the Brest Fortress.
The Zodchie [Architects] team has been set up at Euphrosyne of Polotsk State University of Polotsk and includes 10 people. They worked on the construction of the National Center for Patriotic Education of Youth at the Kobrin fortification of the Brest Fortress. This prohect was given the status of the All-Belarusian Youth Construction Site.
A competition for the best student team is held annually and the challenge banner is awarded in order to stimulate the activity of the student teams working at the sites with the status of All-Belarusian or regional (Minsk city) youth construction sites.
The history of the student volunteer movement in Belarus dates back to 1963. It reached its peak in the 1980s. About 35,000 young people became members of the student brigades then. This movement received a new impetus thanks to the presidential decree of 12 May 2005, which regulated the activities of student teams and defined preferences for their participants.
