Lukashenko presents awards to best farmers of Mogilev Oblast

KLIMOVICHI, 16 November (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko presented awards to the best workers of the agricultural industry of Mogilev Oblast at the Dazhynki harvest festival in the town of Klimovichi on 16 November, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that Belarus does not have large oil and gas reserves, but it has its own land and unique people. "I do not get tired of repeating: this is our main wealth, something that does not exist in other countries, believe me," he stressed.

Speaking about the best farmers, the president stressed that their names embody new successes and records. He is convinced that there will definitely be new ones in the coming years.

"I am very proud of all of you! Very! I am proud of my Belarusian people!" Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

He recalled that he had recently spoken at an international conference. According to the president, he had the right to say what he thought necessary and even to criticize a large country: "They cannot have any complaints about me and my people, the state. We honestly fulfill our obligations."

"You are my pride. I am happy that I share this land with you. I am grateful to fate that the time has chosen us. It was a difficult time. But we forged this time. We will continue doing it and accomplish our goals. We are writing the most important first chapters of the history of sovereign Belarus. Without false modesty, we have been doing it with dignity so far!" the Belarusian leader stressed.

He extended greetings to agricultural workers as they are gearing up to celebrate their professional holiday [Agriculture Workers’ Day], calling them the most resilient, patriotic and wise people. “You are our stronghold. It is you who have prevented the destruction and collapse of our country,” the president said.

The head of state wished everyone good health, prosperity and new achievements. “I wish every home, every family love, mutual understanding and prosperity, which depends only on us. I wish your children to make you always happy,” Aleksandr Lukashenko added.

The head of state presented awards to a number of agricultural workers.

Aleksandr Lukashenko was asked to sign a copy of the photo album for the museum of Klimovichi District.

"The first governor who asks for an autograph instead of money," the head of state noted with humor.
