Lukashenko plans to meet with Amir of Kuwait soon

MINSK, 1 October (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has plans to meet with the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah in the near future. The president shared these plans as he received credentials from the ambassador of Kuwait on 1 October, BelTA has learned.

Kuwaiti Ambassador Rashid Hammad Al-Adwani conveyed best regards from the Amir of the State of Kuwait to the Belarusian head of state. He emphasized that his country is interested in developing relations with Belarus.

“Convey my best and warmest regards to the Amir. I think that we will meet soon. I have very friendly relations with him,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said in response.

The Kuwaiti diplomat, in turn, confirmed that his country would be happy to host the president of Belarus and is looking forward to his visit.

A reminder, at the ceremony of presenting credentials, Aleksandr Lukashenko called Kuwait an important partner for Belarus in the Middle East. “We highly appreciate your country’s commitment to a peaceful settlement of conflicts and crises (you are deeply involved in this, as is Belarus), as well as humanitarian efforts in the international arena. This is aligned with our peace initiatives to begin a broad international dialogue on security principles and guarantees,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. The head of state voiced Belarus’ readiness to make every effort to build trade, economic and investment partnerships in all areas.
