Lukashenko plans to examine fuel pellet production

LYUBAN DISTRICT, 23 May (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko announced plans to examine the production and use of fuel pellets during an off-site meeting to discuss the construction and commissioning of the mining and processing complex (MPC) in Lyuban District, Minsk Oblast, BelTA has learned.
During the meeting, Aleksandr Lukashenko outlined ways to develop the manufacturing industry in Belarus: deepening existing competencies and building new enterprises.

"We need to focus more on promising areas of our development at the presidential level," the Belarusian leader emphasized.

The use of local fuel resources and the production of pellets from wood waste are the areas that Aleksandr Lukashenko instructed to develop several years ago. He plans to examine practical examples of how his instruction has been implemented.

"We will explore another promising area. Some time ago, I gave an instruction to construct several pellet production facilities. There is an abundance of waste in the forests: everything should be processed and turned into pellets for heating buildings. We started production, then faced sanctions, and people complained that we had no one to sell it. But we do not need to sell: let’s use it ourselves. We have boilers, we can replace natural gas, oil, and petroleum products with wood chips and pellets," the head of state said. "We will see how a regular enterprise has been modernized and what products it now manufactures. Processing wood waste is our future. There is plenty of it in the forests. I want to see significant results. People don't care about what they use to heat their homes. We are burning what would otherwise go to waste, and we are getting both benefits and efficiency from it."

Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized that focusing on this and other promising areas is especially important at this time to demonstrate the country's development path to the new generation. "They must see our system at work. If they want, they can adopt it in the future. If not, let them propose something better. But later, the Belarusian people will hold them responsible. It is crucial to make them understand that this is our path, and we are showing it to the youth. Within five years, we must accomplish this."
