MINSK, 9 December (BelTA) – On 9 December Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 459 “On representing the Republic of Belarus at international events”, BelTA learned from the press service of the president.
In line with the decree, starting from 1 March 2025, only state-run organizations will be able to use the words “Republic of Belarus”, “Belarus”, “national”, “Belarusian” in the names of cultural, sports and educational events aimed at selecting people for their preparation for participation and (or) participation in international events on behalf of the Republic of Belarus.
The National Beauty School is granted the status of a single coordinator for organizing and holding the Miss Belarus national beauty contest and selecting representatives of Belarus for international beauty pageants.
The decree also lays out the procedure for participation in international cultural, sports, educational events that accept only one person (team) from each participating state.
An individual or a team will be able to represent Belarus at such events provided they pass a national selection or are delegated by a state-run organization or notify a state-run agency on their intention to participate in such an event.
These measures will help better protect the interests of the country and better prepare for important international events.
