Lukashenko outlines promising areas of cooperation with Botswana

 MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko sent greetings to Duma Boko on his party's victory in the general elections in Botswana and his election as president of the country, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"The results of the vote once again confirmed the strength of the Botswana democratic system. I am convinced that the country will continue on the course of sustainable development and modernization under your leadership. Minsk is interested in building up long-term ties with Gaborone. The two countries can cooperate in the field of food security and technology transfer in agriculture, mining, information and communication technologies," Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.

The head of state noted that Belarus is ready to send a high-level delegation to take part and make a constructive contribution to the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries due in Botswana in December of this year.

The president wished Duma Boko good health and success in his new responsible post.
