Lukashenko opens Union State summit

MINSK, 4 November (BelTA) –The Supreme State Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia has convened for a videoconference meeting, BelTA has learned.

The meeting is presided by Chairman of the Supreme State Council of the Union State, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko and is attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the prime ministers of the two countries and the heads of the houses of the two parliaments and other government officials.

The agenda includes six items. The first of them is the draft guidelines to implement the Union State Treaty in 2021-2023. A package of Union State programs have been developed in furtherance of this document.

The parties will also discuss the trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Belarus, the Military Doctrine of the Union State, the concept of migration policy of the Union State and the nominees for the maiden Union State Award in Science and Technology 2021 and the status of implementation of the decisions of the Supreme State Council.
